Slow Video Playback

If videos are slow to load, or if you are experiencing choppy playback, here are some helpful tips on how to speed things up…

- Test your internet connection at http://speedtest.net/ (broadband internet connection is required). Compare results with our System Requirements.

- Pause the video until the buffer is full and then try playing the video again.

- Close all other applications (Dropbox, BitTorrent, Skype, online games) you have open and don't currently need.

- Clear your browser cache.

- Try lowering the video quality settings if possible (depending on which player is being used). Lowering the quality will reduce the processing demand on your computer. You will most likely find this option near the bottom right corner of the video player.

- If you are trying to watch a video through a wireless connection and the video keeps stuttering, try a wired connection, or try moving your computer closer to the Wi-Fi router to get a better signal.

- Try playing the video in a different web browser to see if you experience the same problem.

- Right-click (or Option + click if you have a Mac) on the video player and select Settings.

  • Then, click on the left-most tab labeled Display.

  • Uncheck the box next to where it says Enable hardware acceleration. This is a quick, temporary way to speed things up if you don't want to worry about updating your plug-ins.
